Before setup, make sure your home and hardware are ready for an always-on server.

Computer requirements

A computer that can install Docker Desktop (Windows 10/11 or macOS).
Enough storage for your library and future growth.
Reliable power and ventilation.

Network requirements

Fast home internet for smooth access and streaming.
A wired LAN connection is preferred for stability.
Place the server close to your router if possible.

Placement & uptime

Plan for the computer to stay on all the time.
Store it in a safe, dry spot in your home.
Keep it on a solid surface with airflow.
